Are you a Christian woman wondering if you should be mentoring someone? Discover 5 biblical reasons why mentoring matters and how to begin your mentoring journey today.
We live in a world where it’s easier than ever to consume Christian content. We can listen to sermons, read books, highlight our Bibles, and fill notebooks with truth. Yet information alone doesn’t produce transformation.
God never intended for His Word to stay on the page. He gave it to us so it would shape the way we think, speak, love, serve, and live. As we intentionally put Scripture into practice in our everyday lives and encourage other women to do the same,
biblical knowledge becomes lived obedience, and our faith moves from Bible to Life.
RECOGNIZE
We recognize the gap between our beliefs, God’s Word, convictions, etc. – and how we’re living. We can’t respond to what we don’t recognize.
READ
We read God’s Word to discover His truth. Instead of feelings and/or opinions, we allow Scripture to shape our choices and guide our lives.
RESPOND
We respond with intentional obedience. We choose to submit ourselves under the authority of God’s Word, and work toward living rightly every day.
RELAY
We pass on what we’ve learned to another woman. We encourage, lead, mentor, and share what God is teaching us as we walk alongside others.
The truth is we never outgrow the foundation. We will spend our life adding to our foundation and letting Scripture continuously change us.
You know what Scripture says, but you want your faith to impact the way you actually live. You want to grow beyond simply learning more and begin intentionally putting God’s Word into practice – in your thoughts, your choices, your relationships, and your everyday life.
We never stop practicing. Throughout our lives, we will continue taking God’s Word from the page and putting it into action as He grows and changes us.
The reality is we are always influencing someone. Whether formally or informally, we can use our lives to encourage others and help them take steps toward Jesus.
You’ve experienced the impact of following Jesus in your daily life, and now you want to help another woman grow too. Mentoring isn’t about having all the answers – it’s about walking alongside someone, sharing what God is teaching you, and pointing her toward Jesus.
We are always being discipled and always have the opportunity to disciple others. Throughout every season of life, God invites us to share what He is teaching us with the women around us – with an emphasis on investing in another woman one-on-one.
You may find yourself focusing on one area at a time, building your foundation before learning to practice your faith, or stepping into leadership and mentoring as God grows you. But over time, these areas become deeply connected – each one strengthening and shaping the others as you continue following Jesus. And each component continuing to shape us throughout our lives.
As we build our foundation, practice what we believe, help others grow, and invest in the women around us,
these components become woven together into a life that reflects Jesus in every area, every day.
“Imitate me, as I imitate Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1 ESV
I love Jesus, and I believe Christian women can confidently know God’s Word, live it out, and help others do the same.
She Imitates wasn’t born from ambition – it was born from a conviction God continued pressing on my heart. After more than 15 years of leading and discipling Christian women, I saw a need for practical discipleship that helps women study Scripture, apply it to everyday life, and confidently pass it on. God has used faithful women to shape me, and their investment changed my life, and now my hope is to pass that same kind of intentional discipleship on to you.
I’m still learning, still growing, and still being shaped by Jesus – but when you sit at my table, I hope you’ll find encouragement to study the Bible, practice what you learn, imitate Jesus, and become a woman worth imitating.
And if we can do it all over a good cup of coffee? Even better.
